Welcome to the North Devon Grecians Online...

Hello and welcome to the new website for the North Devon Grecians. We're a group of Exeter City fans based in the North of the County. The NDGs were set up following The Grecians' relegation from the football league. At that time it looked as if the club might not even survive, so the main aim initially was to help the club financially through various fundraising activities.

Since then, the NDGs have ploughed more than twenty thousand pounds into Exeter City. We run a number of social events throughout the year and organise travel to many away games. If you're interested in joining us - please check out the How To Join page of this website.

Exeter City legends Alan Banks and Jimmy Giles (NGD president) will be visiting Barnstaple on March 13th. The pair, both hugely popular with fans of the football club, have agreed to be guests at the North Devon Grecians Quiz Night on that evening.

Alan Banks was a natural goal scorer who as well as playing for Liverpool, spent 9 years with the club in the 60s and 70s. He made a total of 285 appearanceas and scored 109 goals. He was leading scorer for the club in 4 seasons and turned the club from a side struggling near the foot of the league into a promotion chasing team. Jimmy Giles was a tower of strength in the Exeter defence in the 70s and in two separate spells at the club made 343 appearances and scored 12 goals. He was the first player to be voted City's Player of the Year in two seasons.

The North Devon Grecians Quiz Night is being held at the Western Power Social Club, Victoria Road, on Friday March 13th and starts at 7.45. Everybody is welcome with individuals paying £2 and teams of up to 4 £5. For details contact John Wilsher, 01271 374899 or Philip Sanders 01271 328390.
